ALEWA
ALEWA is the link-up between Ghanaian drummer and songwriter Prince Larbi (Tempopolice) and Berlin-based double bassist Isabel Rößler.
This is where Accra street energy meets the raw spirit of the Berlin free jazz scene.
Tempopolice brings heavy Afrobeat pulse, Highlife roots and deep Afro-Fusion grooves straight from Ghana. His drumming is explosive, polyrhythmic and unapologetically alive — talking drums translated to the drum kit, tradition flipped into future sound.
Isabel Rößler’s bass playing is shaped by the Berlin underground: free jazz attitude, fearless improvisation, wide-open textures. She doesn’t just hold down the low end — she pushes, bends and breaks it.
Together, ALEWA moves between sweaty Afrobeat grooves, free jazz explosions and hypnotic Afro-Fusion landscapes. It’s rhythm-driven, bass-heavy, improvisation-loaded. No borders. No safety net.
This is not a polite cultural exchange.
This is Accra × Berlin.
Raw rhythm. Deep conversation. Pure movement.
